Sewing at the Curtain
Come learn to sew at The Curtain Playhouse. Our sewing classes are designed for solo sewers age 9 and above or 6-8 years old with a parent. You can bring your own machine or use one of ours (please no toy sewing machines).

Cost is $60/class and all materials are included.

Class #1- Mon Oct 13th, Hello... SEW!
Learn About Your Machine
Beginners, begin here!
Use your machine or use one of ours, and learn the basics of your machine. We will cover threading of the machine, threaded and loading your bobbin, pedal control, stitches and their meaning and more!

Class #2- Mon Oct 20th, Make a Pillowcase
Learn basic sewing skills and make a pillowcase! If you already know some basics on your machine, you can start here.


Class #3- Mon, Nov 3rd, Gift Bags
Today, you'll learn how to make gift bags for the holidays or any gift giving occasion. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle EVERYTHING!


Class #4- Mon, Nov 24th, Make a Skirt
You'll get to sew your first item of clothing today- a simple skirt. We will learn how to use elastic today.


Class #5- Mon, Dec 8th, Make A Monster!
Making plush monsters is an excellent sewing project! It is one of our favorites- a creative way to practice basic stitches and techniques using forgiving materials like felt. The simple, improvisational nature of "monster" designs means there's no pressure to be perfect and just have fun!
